How to Create a Digital Business Card Using QR Codes

Mobile internet users will reach 113.9 million in 2012, up 17.1% from 97.3 million in 2011. Mobile is exploding right now and creating sales and marketing materials that are easy to access from the business Smart Phone is becoming increasingly pivotal to your company’s success!
With that, integrating QR codes into your sales and marketing materials is increasingly important as well. But how do you create and utilize QR codes for your business???
Follow these 4 easy steps and you’ll have a fully functional Digital Business Card QR Code:
Step 1: QR Code Generator — ZXing
Go to ZXing QR Code Generator and fill out the QR Code Generator form.
Step 2: Generate
Once you’ve put in all your business contact information, click “Generate ->” down at the bottom of the form.
Step 3: Copy & Paste
Told you it was easy!
Now you can either copy & paste the provided url to embed the QR code on a web page, Facebook Fan Page, etc., or you can take a screen-shot of the QR code (I use Snagit) and use it just like an image.
Step 4: Scan & Check
Once you have inserted your QR Code where you want it — webpage, sales sheet, business card, etc. — now you want to scan it with your Smartphone and ensure that it works correctly. I like to use Red Laser app for my iPhone, but there are lots of scanning apps out there that work great.
